070818: Movie Review: Bourne Ultimatum

I love this series, which started with the Bourne Identity. Being a fan of Matt Damon, it was just a matter of time before I watch this final (maybe) installment and it did not disappoint.

Mission Impossible was great with Tom Cruise in action and I really have to say without it, I probably won't be interested in the Bourne Series.

The Bourne series, though, feature a reluctant and more human protagonist as compared to the razmatazz that is the feature of Mission Impossible.

Bourne Ultimatum picked up where Bourne Supremacy left off as Jason Bourne looks for revenge for the murder of his beloved Marie who was sniped in Goa, India. He also wants to take out the chief perpetrator who made him who he is, which ultimately backfired on him.

The movie takes us to a few locations starting with Moscow and on to Paris, London, Madrid, Tangier and finally, New York City, where it all began.

For me, it was the best movie of the year, though it was a close fight with Spider-Man 3 really.

The revelation (ultimatum) shocked me, though to think of it, it wasn't unexpected given Bourne's ability and skills.

The best scene for me was when Bourne and the Moroccan assasin, Desh, had this superb fight sequence that will ranked to me as one of the best fight sequence ever.

The closing scene is a classic with Moby's theme music "Extreme Ways", which kickstarted Bourne Identity, ending (probably) the Bourne series.

I rate this movie 5/5. Definitely, a must watch and now I only need to buy the VCD to round off my (original) Bourne series so I can watch all the movies again in marathon mode!
